Dermi 5 + Cream is a combination of medicines used to treat skin infections caused by microorganisms such as bacteria and fungi. It kills and stops the growth of infection causing microorganisms, thereby clearing the infection and relieving the symptoms. It also blocks the release of chemicals that cause symptoms such as itching, redness and swelling. Therefore this medicine relieves the inflammation due to these infections.

You should use Dermi 5 + Cream for as long as it is prescribed, even if your symptoms disappear, otherwise they may come back. Depending on the type of infection you are treating, this may be several weeks. Even after your infection is completely cured, you may have to apply it occasionally to prevent the symptoms from returning.

How Dermi Cream works

Dermi 5 + Cream is a combination of four medicines: Clobetasol, Gentamicin, Clioquinol (Iodochlorhydroxyquin), and Ketoconazole. Clobetasol is a steroid. It works by blocking the production of certain chemical messengers that make the skin red, swollen and itchy. Gentamicin is an antibiotic which kills bacteria by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Ketoconazole and Clioquinol are antifungal medicines. Ketoconazole kills and stops the growth of the fungi by destroying its cell membrane, thereby treating your skin infection. Clioquinol acts by interacting with DNA synthesis thus killing the fungi that are responsible for causing the infection.
