How Coldguard XT Tablet works

Coldguard XT 500 mg/30 mg/4 mg Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Paracetamol, caffeine and chlorpheniramine which relieve common cold symptoms. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) and antipyretic (fever reducer). It blocks the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that are responsible for pain and fever. Caffeine increases the effectiveness of paracetamol. Chlorpheniramine is an antiallergic which relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing.

Driving

Kidney

Coldguard XT 500 mg/30 mg/4 mg Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Coldguard XT 500 mg/30 mg/4 mg Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Coldguard XT 500 mg/30 mg/4 mg Tablet may cause excessive sleepiness in patients with end stage kidney disease.
Liver
CAUTION
Coldguard XT 500 mg/30 mg/4 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Coldguard XT 500 mg/30 mg/4 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
However, the use of Coldguard XT 500 mg/30 mg/4 mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease and active liver disease.

What if you forget to take Coldguard XT Tablet?

If you miss a dose of Coldguard XT 500 mg/30 mg/4 mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
