Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Codep 37 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time. Take it with food, if it causes stomach upset.
Codep 37 Tablet is a combination of four medicines: Chlordiazepoxide, Imipramine, Trihexyphenidyl and Trifluoperazine. Chlordiazepoxide is a benzodiazepine (BZD) which works by increasing the action of GABA, a chemical messenger which suppresses the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain. Imipramine is a tricyclic antidepressant which increases the levels of chemical messengers in the brain that help in regulating the mood and treat depression. Trihexyphenidyl is an anticholinergic which works on the nervous system and corrects some of the chemical imbalances that cause Parkinson's disease. Trifluoperazine is a typical antipsychotic. It works by blocking the action of dopamine, a chemical messenger in the brain that affects thoughts and mood.
Codep 37 Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.

Codep 37 Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy. There is positive evidence of human fetal risk, but the benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk, for example in life-threatening situations. Please consult your doctor.
Codep 37 Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation.
Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Do not drive unless you are feeling well. Codep 37 Tablet make u feel dizzy, drowsy or can cause blurred vision. This may affect your driving ability.
Codep 37 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Codep 37 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
