Candigem Tablet is a combination of four medicines. It is used in the treatment of fungal infections. Use it in the dose and duration as directed by your physician.

Take Candigem Tablet in the dose and duration prescribed by the doctor. Take it regularly and for as long as the doctor has prescribed. For better efficacy of the medicine, the course of the treatment should be completed even if you feel better. Stopping taking the medicine midway may result in returning of the infection. Candigem Tablet is generally safe with little or no side effects. However, if you experience any symptoms on taking the medicine, let your doctor know. They may be able to suggest ways to reduce or treat the side effects. In case of any allergic reactions (rashes, itching, swelling, shortness of breath, etc.), it is advised to call for immediate medical help. Before using it, tell your doctor if you have an underlying disease or are taking medicines for any health condition. Ask your doctor for advice if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you are a known allergic to the medicine, you must refrain from using this medicine and consult your doctor. During the course of the treatment, you must follow proper personal hygiene for a faster recovery.

How to use Candigem Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Candigem Tablet is to be taken with food.

How Candigem Tablet works

Candigem Tablet is a combination of four medicines: Clotrimazole, Lactobacillus, Povidone Iodine and Tinidazole. Clotrimazole is an antifungal which stops the growth of fungi. Lactobacillus is a live microorganism which works by producing anti-infectious substances. Povidone Iodine is an antiseptic which slowly releases iodine and kills or prevents the growth of harmful microorganisms. Tinidazole is an antibiotic. It kills other microorganisms in addition to bacteria by damaging their DNA.

Consuming alcohol while taking Candigem Tablet may cause symptoms such as flushing, increased heart beat, nausea, thirst, chest pain and low blood pressure (Disulfiram reaction).
Pregnancy
CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR
Candigem Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
Breast feeding
CAUTION
Candigem Tablet should be used with caution during breastfeeding. Breastfeeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from her body.
If a single dose of Candigem Tablet is used, it is recommended to hold breastfeeding for 12-24 hours to allow the removal of the drug.
Driving
UNSAFE
Candigem Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.
Candigem Tablet may make you feel drowsy or gives you problems with coordination or sensation (e.g. numbness or weakness). This may affect your driving ability.
Kidney
CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR
There is limited information available on the use of Candigem Tablet in patients with kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.
Liver
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Candigem Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Candigem Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

What if you forget to take Candigem Tablet?

If you miss a dose of Candigem Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
