Lactobacillus is a live micro-organism, when given in adequate amount, provides health benefits. It restores the balance of good bacteria (microorganisms) in the intestine that may get upset with the use of antibiotics or due to intestinal infections.

Expert advice for Ampicillin

  • Do not take ampicillin with food or milk.
  • Do not start or continue the ampicillin suspension/capsule and consult your doctor if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to ampicillin, penicillin, cephalosporin, any other antibiotic of this class or any other ingredient of suspension/capsule.
  • Do not start or continue the ampicillin suspension/capsule and consult your doctor if you suffer from liver problems ar diabetes.

Expert advice for Cloxacillin

  • It should not be taken by patients who are allergic to cloxacillin or any of the other penicillins or cephalosporin.
  • Cloxacillin may decrease the effectiveness of birth control pills. Use a second method of birth control while taking cloxacillin to protect against pregnancy.
  • Consult your doctor before taking cloxacillin, if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
  • If you are on long-term treatment with cloxacillin, your kidney and liver function, and your blood cell count may have to be done regularly.

Expert advice for Lactobacillus

  • Avoid taking Lactobacillus along with steroids (medications that weaken the immune system) as they might increase the chances of getting sick.
  • Notify your doctor if you are pregnant.
  • Notify your doctor if you are breast-feeding.
  • Take Lactobacillus at least 2 hours before or after antibiotics. This is because taking Lactobacillus along with the antibiotics can reduce their effectiveness.
