Product introduction

You can take Asomex-AT Tablet at any time of day, with or without food, but it is best to take it at the same time each day. Continue taking this medication for as long as your doctor recommends. Even if you feel fine, do not stop on your own, as high blood pressure often has no noticeable symptoms. Stopping suddenly may worsen your condition. Staying active with regular exercise, reducing your weight, and eating a healthy diet will also help control your blood pressure.

Asomex-AT Tablet may cause side effects like nausea, flushing, edema, slow heart rate, palpitations, and tiredness. It may also cause dizziness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. You may be asked for regular monitoring of blood pressure, kidney function, blood sugar level, and electrolyte level while on the treatment.

Before starting this medication, inform your doctor if you have any liver or kidney issues. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, seek medical advice before use. Additionally, let your doctor know about any other medications you are taking, particularly those for high blood pressure or heart conditions.

Uses of Asomex-AT Tablet

Benefits of Asomex-AT Tablet

Hypertension (high blood pressure)
Asomex-AT Tablet is a combination medicine that contains two active ingredients, S-Amlodipine and Atenolol. Both of the medicines in this combination work to lower blood pressure but in different ways. Together they help to relax blood vessels, reduce heart rate and make it easier for your heart to pump blood around your body. This lowers blood pressure.
If your blood pressure is controlled you are less at risk of having a heart attack, stroke or kidney problems. The medicine must be taken regularly as prescribed to be effective. You do not usually feel any direct benefit from taking this medicine, but it works in the long term to keep you well. You should also make appropriate lifestyle changes (such as eating healthy and staying active) to maximize the effectiveness of this medicine.

How Asomex-AT Tablet works

Asomex-AT Tablet is a combination of two medicines: S-Amlodipine and Atenolol, which lower blood pressure effectively. S-Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that works by relaxing blood vessels, while Atenolol is a beta blocker that works specifically on the heart to slow down the heart rate. Together, they help the heart pump blood more efficiently throughout the body.

Frequently asked questions

Blood pressure typically begins to decrease within a few hours after Asomex-AT Tablet dosing. However, the full effects of Asomex-AT Tablet on blood pressure are seen after a few weeks of consistent use. Continue taking Asomex-AT Tablet even if you feel well, as hypertension (high blood pressure) often has no symptoms.
Individuals should avoid taking Asomex-AT Tablet if they have serious heart problems (like heart block or very slow heartbeat), have severe heart failure, have allergies to any ingredients, or are currently experiencing cardiogenic shock (a condition where the heart can't pump enough blood to meet the body's needs).
During Asomex-AT Tablet treatment, you should seek immediate medical help if you experience serious side effects such as dizziness or fainting, shortness of breath, chest pain getting worse, very slow heartbeat, swelling of face, lips, or throat (allergic reaction), worsening angina or a heart attack after starting or increasing dose.
Do not stop taking Asomex-AT Tablet when your blood pressure improves as stopping Asomex-AT Tablet suddenly can cause dangerous heart rhythm changes or may worsen the blood pressure. If needed, your doctor will create a gradual tapering plan. This medication controls but doesn't cure hypertension.
Asomex-AT Tablet may reduce exercise tolerance by limiting maximum heart rate. Monitor how you feel during activity and stay hydrated. The ankle swelling from Asomex-AT Tablet may worsen with prolonged standing.
When on treatment with Asomex-AT Tablet, regular blood pressure checks (including home monitoring), periodic blood tests for kidney/liver function, and heart rate monitoring are important. Your doctor may also check for any swelling in the body and review the effectiveness of the medication.
While taking Asomex-AT Tablet, you should avoid alcohol which can worsen side effects like dizziness. Monitor your blood pressure regularly, and be cautious when standing up quickly as it may cause dizziness. Do not miss the doses and take them exactly as prescribed.
