Asklerol Injection is given by your doctor or nurse. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early, your symptoms may come back, and your condition may worsen.


The most common side effects are injection site swelling or pain. These are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about any of these side effects.


Before taking it, you should tell your doctor if you have any kidney or liver diseases so that your doctor can prescribe a suitable dose for you. Let your doctor know about all other medications you are taking, as some may affect, or be affected by, this medicine.

Quick tips

  • Wear thigh- or knee-high compression stockings, depending on the area treated, to provide adequate coverage.
  • Walk for at least 10 minutes post-therapy, along with wearing the compression bandage, with the help of a caregiver.
  • Avoid heavy or strenuous exercise for 2-3 days post-therapy. Long-distance travel while sitting should also be avoided (in a car or airplane).
  • Avoid exposure to sunlight, hot baths, or saunas for 2-3 days post-treatment.
  • Take precautions as advised by your doctor before applying ice or heating pads to the treated leg.

Asklerol Injection is a quick procedure. After receiving Asklerol Injection, your doctor may advise wearing compression on the affected area and walking for 15-20 minutes. You should keep wearing compression for 2-3 days post-treatment to prevent complications. Always follow your doctor's advice.
The number of sessions depends on the condition and its severity. Your doctor may repeat treatment based on the desired result and severity of the condition.
Most patients report brief discomfort during the treatment and mild soreness at the injection site afterward. Asklerol Injection is well-tolerated without anesthesia.
Your doctor may advise you to walk for 15 to 20 minutes immediately after the Asklerol Injection treatment and daily for the next few days. For two to three days following treatment, you should avoid heavy exercise, sunbathing, long plane flights, and hot baths or saunas.
You should be active as movement prevents blood clots. Avoid bed rest or sitting for long hours. For about 1 week, you should avoid heavy lifting, long flights, and high-impact sports.
You should not get Asklerol Injection if you are allergic to polidocanol (active medicine in Asklerol Injection) and/or any recent blood clots (like deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism).
The serious side effects of Asklerol Injection include severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) which can be life-threatening, blood clots in deep veins or lungs, stroke or heart attack (especially if the medicine is mixed with air) and skin damage (if the drug leaks outside the vein or is accidentally injected into an artery). These side effects are rare but serious. The injection should only be done by a doctor or trained professional.<br>
