How Arteq LF Tablet works

Arteq LF 80 mg/480 mg Tablet is a combination of two antiparasitic medicines: Artemether and Lumefantrine, which treats malaria. These medicines work by increasing the levels of haeme in the blood, a substance toxic to the malarial parasite. This kills the parasite and stops the infection from spreading.

Pregnancy

Arteq LF 80 mg/480 mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
Arteq LF 80 mg/480 mg Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Driving
Arteq LF 80 mg/480 mg Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney
Arteq LF 80 mg/480 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Arteq LF 80 mg/480 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
No dose adjustment is recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.
Liver
