How to use Alertus A Syrup

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Alertus A Syrup is to be taken empty stomach.
Take it with food if stomach upset occurs.

How Alertus A Syrup works

Alertus A Syrup is a combination of two medicines: Levocetirizine and Zinc Gluconate which relieve sneezing and runny nose due to allergies. Levocetirizine is an antiallergic which relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Zinc gluconate is a nutritional supplement which releases zinc ions into the throat. This prevents the cold virus from reproducing due to which the virus dies off faster and the cold ends sooner.

Alcohol
CAUTION
Alertus A Syrup may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.
Pregnancy
Unknown. Human and animal studies are not available. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
Alertus A Syrup is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Larger doses or more prolonged use of Alertus A Syrup may cause drowsiness and other effects in the baby or decrease the milk supply
Driving
Alertus A Syrup may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney
CAUTION
Alertus A Syrup should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Alertus A Syrup may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Alertus A Syrup is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.
Liver
There is limited information available on the use of Alertus A Syrup in patients with liver disease. Please consult your doctor.
