Frequently asked questions

Cerviprime 0.5mg Gel works similar to Prostaglandin E2, a substance produced naturally by the women’s body. It helps in initiating the labor in women who are ready to deliver a full-term baby. It works by softening and widening the cervix.
This medicine is not for self-application purpose. It is usually applied in hospital settings by a medical healthcare professional like a nurse or doctor. It is placed in the upper vagina. This medicine remains active for 6 hours.
The dose would depend on your response to the medicine. In some patients, a single dose of this medicine usually starts labor. Sometimes, a dose may be repeated if your doctor feels that the cervix is not completely ready for the labor. In a few cases, the dose may be repeated multiple times.
After inserting this medicine, you and your’s baby vitals may be monitored constantly. You will be advised to lie down for at least 30 minutes. Any contractions will also be monitored. Your doctor may examine you after 6 hours or earlier in case you have strong contractions, to check for progress of labor.
