How Vegaspas DN Products work

Drotaverine + Mefenamic Acid is a combination of two medicines: Drotaverine + Mefenamic Acid1 and Drotaverine + Mefenamic Acid2, which relieves abdominal pain and cramps. Drotaverine + Mefenamic Acid1 is an anti-spasmodic medicine which relieves contractions (spasms) associated with smooth muscles in the abdomen. Drotaverine + Mefenamic Acid2 is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause abdominal pain and inflammation (swelling).

Patient Concerns about Vegaspas DN Products

Frequently asked questions about Vegaspas DN Products

Q. Who should avoid Vegaspas DN Tablet and what side effects can it cause?

Vegaspas DN Tablet is generally safe when taken in the dose and duration prescribed by a doctor, but some people may experience nausea, vomiting, heartburn, diarrhea, dry mouth, weakness, sleepiness, or loss of appetite. These effects are usually mild and temporary. People who are allergic to this medicine or who have severe liver disease, kidney disease, or certain heart conditions should use it only if advised by a doctor. Stop consuming the medicine and seek medical help if you develop a rash, breathing difficulty, swelling, fainting, or persistent vomiting or diarrhea.

Q. Can Vegaspas DN Tablet cause stomach bleeding?

Yes, Vegaspas DN Tablet can rarely cause stomach or intestinal bleeding because it contains a pain-relief ingredient that may irritate the stomach lining. This risk is higher if you take it for a long time, in higher doses, or if you already have stomach problems. Drinking alcohol along with this medicine can further increase the risk. Watch for warning signs such as black or tarry stools, vomiting blood, or severe stomach pain. If you notice any of these symptoms, seek medical help immediately.

Q. Can I stop taking Vegaspas DN Tablet once my pain improves?

Vegaspas DN Tablet is usually used for short-term relief of pain or muscle spasms, so it can often be stopped once the pain improves. However, if your doctor has advised taking it for a specific duration, continue the medicine as prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop it suddenly without medical advice. If pain keeps returning, worsens, or does not improve despite treatment, consult your doctor.

Q. Can Vegaspas DN Tablet cause dry mouth?

Yes, Vegaspas DN Tablet may cause dryness of the mouth in some people. If you experience dry mouth, drink plenty of water and take small sips frequently during the day. Keeping water near your bedside at night and using lip balm may help if your lips feel dry. Avoid very spicy, salty, or acidic foods if they worsen the dryness.

Q. Can I take more than the recommended dose of Vegaspas DN Tablet?

No, you should not take more than the recommended dose of Vegaspas DN Tablet. Taking higher doses can increase the risk of side effects such as nausea, vomiting, dizziness, or stomach discomfort. Always take the medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor. If your pain is not relieved by the recommended dose, consult your doctor rather than increasing the dose yourself.

Q. What is Vegaspas DN Tablet and what is it used for?

Vegaspas DN Tablet is a medicine used to relieve pain caused by muscle spasms in organs such as the stomach, intestines, urinary tract, or uterus. It is commonly used for abdominal cramps, menstrual pain, kidney or gallbladder colic, and intestinal spasms. The medicine works by relaxing the smooth muscles of these organs, which helps reduce cramping and discomfort. It provides symptom relief but does not treat the underlying cause of the condition.

Q. Is Vegaspas DN Tablet safe?

Vegaspas DN Tablet should be used only if advised by a doctor, especially during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Extra caution is also needed in people with kidney disease, liver problems, or heart conditions because these conditions can affect how the medicine works in the body. Always inform your doctor about your medical history and other medicines before starting this medicine.

Q. Can Vegaspas DN Tablet be taken with food?

Vegaspas DN Tablet can usually be taken with or without food, depending on your doctor’s instructions. Taking it after food may help reduce stomach discomfort in some people. Avoid very oily or spicy foods if they worsen your symptoms, and maintain good hydration while using the medicine. If you are unsure about the best time to take it with meals, consult your doctor.

Q. Can I drink alcohol while using Vegaspas DN Tablet?

It is generally better to avoid alcohol while using Vegaspas DN Tablet unless your doctor has advised otherwise. Alcohol may increase side effects such as dizziness, stomach irritation, sleepiness, or dehydration.

Q. Can Vegaspas DN Tablet interact with other medicines?

Interactions may increase side effects or reduce the effectiveness of treatment. Check with your doctor before combining this medicine with other drugs.

Q. Will Vegaspas DN Tablet make you sleepy?

Vegaspas DN Tablet may cause sleepiness or dizziness in some people, although not everyone experiences these effects. If you feel drowsy, avoid driving or operating heavy machinery until you know how the medicine affects you. If sleepiness becomes severe or persistent, consult your doctor for advice.
