Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker. It decreases blood pressure by relaxing the blood vessels (vascular smooth muscles) to reduce the pressure on them, thereby improving the blood flow in the body. This improved blood flow reduces the workload on the heart relaxing the heart muscles. It also increases the oxygen flow in the body. Hence, it is also used in the treatment of heart-related chest pain (angina).
Cardiking starts working on the day it is taken. However, it may take weeks to see the full effect. You should continue taking the medicine even if you feel better or if you do not notice any considerable difference.
