X-ray of the C1-C2 test is used to visualize the upper cervical spine especially C1 and C2 vertebrae along with the surrounding soft tissues (skin and muscles).Vertebral pain at C1-C2 can range anywhere from a dull ache to a sharp, burning pain in the neck. C1-C2 pain may either last for a short while or become chronic.
This test is prescribed by the doctor to diagnose fractures of the C1 vertebra (C1 Burst Fracture) and C2 vertebra (C2 Odontoid Fracture).
