  2. For ECG: A. Remove any metal objects that may interfere with the electrodes. If you have a pacemaker or other implanted cardiac devices, inform the technician. B. Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to your chest area, and avoid using oils, lotions, or creams on your chest area on the test day. C. Avoid consuming large amounts of caffeine (coffee, tea, energy drinks) before the test.
  3. For Echocardiography (Echo): A.
  4. For TMT (Treadmill test): A. Inform your doctor and technician if you may be pregnant before the test. B. Inform the technician about any pre-existing medical conditions such as heart disease, asthma, diabetes, and all medications you take before the test. C. Avoid heavy meals for at least 2 to 4 hours and caffeine (coffee, tea, energy drinks) and nicotine (cigarettes) for several hours before the test. D. Drink water to stay hydrated, but don't overhydrate right before the test.
  5. For PFT: A. Take your daily medications before your test unless your doctor tells you not to. B. If you use a short-acting inhaler, try not to use it for 6 to 8 hours before the test. If you have to use it, let your doctor know before the test. C. Avoid smoking for at least 6 hours before the test. D. Don’t drink alcohol at least 4 hours before the test. E. Don’t eat a large meal at least 2 hours before the test. F. Don’t exercise for at least 30 minutes before the test. G. It is advised to wear loose clothing that does not squeeze the chest or interfere with breathing.
  6. For X-ray: A. Depending on the area to be imaged, you may be asked to wear a hospital gown at the time of the scan. B. You may have to remove your jewelry and any metal objects that might interfere with the image. C. Pregnant women should inform their doctor (and x-ray technician) as the radiation may affect the fetus. If needed, precautions can be taken to lower the radiation exposure to the fetus.

Understanding Radio Screening Package III

What is Radio Screening Package III?

The Radio Screening Package III is a comprehensive set of radiology tests that provide a thorough assessment of your overall health and help detect potential risks early. This package includes a series of essential tests such as Whole Abdomen Ultrasound that provides detailed images of abdominal organs like the liver, kidneys, and pancreas to detect any abnormalities; Electrocardiography (ECG) measures the real-time electrical activity of the heart, and helps identify arrhythmias or heart disease; Echocardiography (Echo) examines the heart’s structure and function, and checks for issues with valves and blood flow; Treadmill Test (TMT) that assesses your heart’s response to physical exertion, and helps identify hidden heart conditions; Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs) evaluate lung capacity that provides insights into your respiratory health; and X-Ray Chest PA View provides an image of your lungs and chest that helps in the detection of respiratory issues or infections.

Getting tested with Radio Screening Package III ensures early detection of potential health issues, proactive health monitoring, and  provides a holistic assessment of your overall well-being.

Ultrasound Whole Abdomen

USG (Ultrasound sonography) technology enables rapid visualization of the abdominal internal organs and structures from the outside of the body. This test records the size, shape, structure, and movement of the internal organs such as the liver, kidneys, intestines, pancreas, gallbladder, spleen, and the abdominal cavity blood vessels. This test identifies abnormalities like tumors, cysts, stones, fluid collection, and evidence of infection or inflammation in these organs. Through the image capture of real-time images, the Ultrasound Whole Abdomen test monitors the abdominal vessels' blood flow, aiding in the diagnosis of liver disease, kidney pathology, and other gastrointestinal ailments.

The USG machine includes a computer console, a video monitor, and a plug-in transducer (a little hand-held device similar to a microphone). The transducer is placed on the skin, and the sound waves travel through the body to the organs and structures inside. The sound waves rebound through the organs as an echo and go back to the transducer, which then interprets the reflected sound waves and produces images of the organs or tissues. Physicians interpret these images to identify abnormalities and order proper treatment if necessary.

Electrocardiography at Center

The Electrocardiography at Center test is a diagnostic tool used to measure the electrical activity of the heart. This test provides a detailed recording of the heart's electrical impulses, which are crucial for its rhythm and function. By capturing the heart's electrical signals, the ECG test can identify various conditions affecting heart health, such as arrhythmias, heart attacks, and other cardiac abnormalities.

The ECG machine consists of a series of electrodes attached to the skin at specific locations on the chest, arms, and legs. These electrodes sense the electrical impulses produced by the heart as it beats. The impulses are then transmitted to the ECG machine, which records them as a waveform on a computer or paper printout. This waveform represents the heart's electrical activity over time, allowing for the analysis of the heart's rhythm, rate, and electrical conduction.

Doctors examine the ECG trace to diagnose heart conditions and determine appropriate treatments. By evaluating the size and timing of each electrical impulse, doctors can detect issues such as irregular heartbeats, heart muscle damage, and other cardiovascular problems.

Echo (Echocardiography)

The Echo (Echocardiography) is a radiology procedure utilizing ultrasound technology to visualize the heart and related structures. It helps in evaluating the overall function of the heart. The test measures the size, shape, and motion of the heart's chambers and valves and blood circulation through the heart. It assists in the identification of abnormalities such as disorders of the valves, heart muscle disease, fluid around the heart, and other structural problems. By capturing real time images of the heart, echo gives insights into the heart's overall health and helps doctors formulate effective treatment plans.

The machine for the echo test contains a computer console, video monitor, and a handheld transducer. The transducer is positioned on the chest, and the ultrasound waves move through the body, reflecting from the heart tissues. The echoes are picked up by the transducer and translated into images by the computer, enabling doctors to diagnose heart disorders.

Treadmill Test

The Treadmill Test evaluates various important aspects of cardiovascular function during physical exertion. Primarily, the TMT assesses how well the heart responds to physical stress by observing alterations in heart rate, blood pressure, and electrical activity (ECG) throughout the test. These observations are particularly useful in determining the heart's ability to pump oxygenated blood to the body during heightened activity. The test also assesses exercise tolerance and detects any abnormality in heart rhythm. It can detect signs of reduced blood flow to the heart muscles, which could be an indication of coronary artery disease or other cardiovascular diseases. By monitoring these parameters, doctors can make informed decisions about the individual’s cardiac status. Based on test results, they can prescribe the proper treatment or life-style changes.

X - Ray Chest PA View

The X - Ray Chest PA View measures various aspects of the chest’s internal structures, including the size, shape, and position of the heart, lungs, and surrounding structures. It can reveal abnormalities such as fluid in the lungs, infections, tumors, or changes in the diaphragm. This imaging test assesses the overall health of the respiratory and cardiovascular system. It allows doctors to detect conditions such as pneumonia, tuberculosis, chronic lung diseases, heart enlargement, or chest injuries.
