Test Preparation
  1. At the time of the MRI you might be asked to remove any metallic coins, jewelry, metal wrist watches, metallic keys, dentures or hearing aids as the MRI uses strong magnetic fields
  2. Tell your radiologist if you have metallic implants like pacemaker, cochlear implants, aneurysm clips, neuro-stimulator, surgical staples/clips or drug implants
  3. Pregnant women should inform their doctor about their pregnancy before going for MRI


What is MRI Whole Body?

A Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) whole-body screening creates a picture of all the body organs which includes the complete head, neck, chest, abdomen, pelvis, musculoskeletal, whole spine, lymph nodes, and its surrounding soft tissues.

This test is done by the doctor to diagnose blood vessels malformations, to find out brain injury, brain dysfunction, and to detect tumor or abnormal growth in the body.

Why is MRI Whole Body done?

  1. To diagnose blood vessels malformations and its inflammation (vasculitis) and heart blockages or congenital heart diseases
  2. To find out brain injury, brain dysfunction (cognitive disorder), spinal cord disorder, nerves, arteries and veins blockage or injury
  3. To detect tumor/abnormal mass growth/cyst/cancer of the abdomen, chest or pelvis region
  4. To evaluate liver problems like fatty liver syndrome, cirrhosis, stone formation in kidney or gall bladder
  5. To monitor development or abnormalities of the baby (fetus) in the womb of a pregnant mother
  6. To assess bowel diseases like Crohn’s disease (inflammation of bowel) and ulcerative colitis (chronic inflammation of the colon)
