Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a type of scan that uses strong magnetic fields and radio waves to capture detailed images of different parts of the body. The MRI of dorsolumbar spine is used to visualize lower thoracic & upper lumbar region of spine. The test is used to detect various disorders such as sponydylitis, spinal stenosis, tumours or infections of the spine. You may need this test if you have severe low back pain, history or signs of cancer, low back injury & multiple sclerosis. The procedure is painless and safe as it is radiationless.
