The CECT Scan Whole Abdomen is an advanced imaging scanvisualize the internal organs, blood vessels, and soft tissues of the abdomen. It uses X-rays along with a contrast agent to produce detailed images of the abdominal organs such as organs like the liver, pancreas, spleen, kidneys, intestines, and bladder. This scan is performed when someone has persistent symptoms like abdominal pain or tenderness, unexplained loss of weight, or abnormal results from other radiology tests. It is also beneficial in diagnosing and assessing conditions like infections, inflammatory diseases, tumors, etc, affecting abdonen.
During the scan, the contrast dye is injected into a vein in your arm to make the images clearer. By providing a clearer and more detailed pictures of the internal structures and organs within the abdomen, the CECT scan will allow the medical doctor to make an accurate diagnosis and plan a good treatment strategy .
