CECT Scan Lumbar Spine (LS)

A CECT Scan Lumbar Spine (LS) is a medical imaging test used to evaluate and assess an individual's risk for developing lumbar spine disorders. It uses a minimal dose of ionizing radiation after injecting contrast material into the patient. The three-dimensional images also help identify congenital abnormalities (disabilities) and cancer/tumor presence in the lumbar spine or surrounding soft tissues.

Symptoms like back pain, difficulty walking, or tingling sensation in the limbs may require a CECT test. The contrast material during the scan may cause temporary allergic reactions such as itching and skin rashes. An abnormal scan result may indicate abnormalities or deformities in the nerves, ligaments, intervertebral discs, muscles, and blood vessels of the lumbar spine.
