Anti Neutrophilic Cytoplasmic Antibody - IFA in Secunderabad
Understanding Anti Neutrophilic Cytoplasmic Antibody - IFA in Secunderabad
What is Anti Neutrophilic Cytoplasmic Antibody - IFA in Secunderabad?
This test detects antineutrophilic cytoplasmic antibodies (ANCA) in the blood. These antibodies protect against viral and bacterial infection, but in autoimmune conditions like vasculitis, these antibodies attack their cells.
The doctors usually recommend this test to diagnose symptoms like fever, fatigue, muscle, and joint aches. It can also monitor treatment efficacy in various autoimmune vasculitis. A negative test suggests the symptoms may not be a result of autoimmune vasculitis.
The testing process is easy and requires no special preparation. A small blood sample from the vein of the arm or back of the hand is sufficient for the test. Except for the mild sting of the needle (while drawing the blood), there is no other discomfort involved.
