The Havrix 720 Junior Monodose Vaccine is indicated for active immunization for the prevention of hepatitis A infection, a contagious liver infection caused by the hepatitis A virus (HAV). The vaccine contains an inactivated strain of the hepatitis A virus. It works by stimulating the immune system to produce protective antibodies against the virus. It is essential to take the vaccine doses as per the doctor’s advice for adequate protection against the disease.

Who should get vaccinated?

Havrix 720 Junior Monodose Vaccine is recommended for children and adolescents aged 1 year and above up to and including 15 years as a preventive measure against hepatitis A infection. A single dose of vaccine can also be administered to adolescents up to and including 18 years of age. This vaccine is recommended especially for those who are at high risk of infection, such as:

Individuals who are not previously vaccinated
Individuals with professions that increase the risk of transmission, like healthcare workers, sewage workers, food handlers, and employees in day-care centres
Individuals with multiple sexual partners
Individuals with chronic liver disease
Individuals living in or traveling to regions with high Hepatitis A prevalence, like individuals in the armed forces

Administration:
