X-Ray Soft Tissue Neck, LAT View test, is a diagnostic medical imaging technique that identifies the soft tissue injuries of the neck. Problems linked with the trachea (windpipe), ligaments, tendons, inflammation, severe throat infections, and other muscle injuries can be detected on the X-ray.

For this procedure, a beam of X-rays form a 2D image on a special detector. The person stands erect or lies down horizontally in an exam gown without any body movements. The procedure takes around 10 to 15 minutes. Body jewellery or piercings are not allowed during the X-ray procedure. Depending upon the results and the severity of the problem, the doctor prescribes the medicines. For safety, women with possible pregnancies must inform the authorities beforehand.
