NCCT Scan Chest is an imaging technique used to visualize the chest area. It helps detect any abnormality in the thorax, rib cage, lungs, heart, spinal cord, or any other surrounding tissues and muscles. This test is recommended to detect the cause of persistent fever, cough, or any abnormalities found in the plain x-ray.
It may also aid in the diagnosis of medical conditions such as bronchitis, pneumonia, tuberculosis, or tumors in the chest area.
CT exams are relatively safe as compared to X-ray as it uses a small amount of radiation. However, pregnant women should inform the physician about their condition as the radiations might affect the fetus.
