Understanding Allergy, Individual Marker, YEAST
What is Allergy, Individual Marker, YEAST?
Allergy, Individual Marker, YEAST measures specific immunoglobulin E (IgE) levels in the blood triggered by yeast. Allergy is an abnormal reaction produced by the human body in response to substances that are in, most cases, harmless. The substances that trigger these reactions are called allergens. IgE is a protein (antibody) produced by the immune system in response to these allergens.
Some of the symptoms of allergic reactions include headache, itching, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, sneezing, and coughing. Your doctor may recommend this test to check if you are allergic to yeast. High levels of yeast-specific IgE may indicate that you are allergic to yeast. Yeast allergies can be managed by avoiding foods and food products that use yeast in their preparations like bread, buns, etc
