Citric Acid(NA)

Uses

Citric Acid is used to prevent infections.

How it works

Citrate salts are alkalinisers. They are commonly used in situations where long-term maintenance of an alkaline urine is necessary and in the management of chronic metabolic acidosis. Citric acid is also used in effervescing mixtures and as a synergist to improve the efficacy of antioxidants. It may also be used in preparations that are used in the treatment of dry mouth and to dissolve renal calculi and prevent encrustation of urinary catheters.

Ephedrine(NA)

Uses

Ephedrine is used in the treatment of decreased blood pressure.

How it works

Ephedrine belongs to a class of medications called sympathomimetic agents. It acts by relaxing the air passages and constricting the blood vessels in the nose for relieving nasal congestion and heart for increasing the blood pressure. It also act on brain, which accounts for its use in narcolepsy.
