Deworm Oral Suspension is an anti-worm medicine given to treat a multitude of parasitic worm infestations, such as roundworm and tapeworm infections in children. It works by paralyzing and restraining the worms from absorbing the body's energy, leading to their eventual death.
Give Deworm Oral Suspension to your child by mouth, preferably with a fat-containing food such as milk. This will help your child’s body absorb this medicine better. In case your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking Deworm Oral Suspension, give the same dose again. Do not double the dose if it is time for the next dose. The duration of the treatment will depend on the type of worm your child is infected with.
Usually, Deworm Oral Suspension is given as a single dose. Your child’s doctor may prescribe repeating this dose after two weeks to prevent reinfection. However, some specific types of infections may require you to give this medicine to your child for a few days to weeks. In such a case, you must give this medicine for the exact prescribed number of days, as stopping it too soon may cause reinfection.
Nausea, vomiting, dizziness, headache, abdominal pain, loss of appetite, hair fall, mild fever, and sore throat are some of the common yet temporary side effects of Deworm Oral Suspension. In some rare cases, this medicine may cause bleeding, which is a serious side effect of this medicine. Make sure to report to your child’s doctor if these side effects persist or become bothersome or if your child experiences bleeding.

Another sign of worm infection is pica, in which you may notice your child eating inedible substances such as mud. Speak to your child’s doctor as soon as you notice any of these in your child. The doctor may suggest collecting your child’s stool and blood samples on 3 different days for examination. Depending upon the reports, the doctor will decide upon the treatment and prescribe it.
