How Caybutyl Tablet works

Caybutyl 650 mg/65 mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Paracetamol / Acetaminophen and Dextropropoxyphene. Paracetamol / Acetaminophen is an analgesic (pain reliever) which works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain. Dextropropoxyphene is an opioid analgesic (pain reliever) which works by blocking the transmission of pain signals to the brain to lower pain perception.

Alcohol
CAUTION
Taking Paracetamol / Acetaminophen+Dextropropoxyphene with alcohol can cause liver damage.
Pregnancy
Unknown. Human and animal studies are not available. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
CAUTION
Caybutyl 650 mg/65 mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Even small doses of Caybutyl 650 mg/65 mg Tablet can cause infant sleepiness and decreased/altered brain function.
Driving
It is not known whether Caybutyl 650 mg/65 mg Tablet alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.
Kidney
CAUTION
Caybutyl 650 mg/65 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Caybutyl 650 mg/65 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Caybutyl 650 mg/65 mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with end stage kidney disease.
Liver
CAUTION
