Directions for Use:

• Sit on a flat surface. Position the left arm so it is level with the heart.

• Wrap the cuff midway between the shoulder and elbow, over the brachial artery.

• Ensure the cuff fits comfortably and is not too tight or too loose.

• Place the stethoscope under the cuff over the artery. Inflate using a bulb to 180–200 mmHg.

• Slowly release pressure using the valve and listen for pulse sounds with a stethoscope.

• Note the first and last audible pulse as systolic and diastolic values.

Safety Information:

• Manometer: Aneroid gauge requires minimal care and maintenance.

• The manometer may be cleaned with a soft cloth but should not be dismantled under any circumstances.

• Gauge accuracy can be checked visually; ensure the needle rests at zero position when the unit is fully deflated.

• A manometer whose indicator needle is not resting at zero point is not acceptable for use.

• Do not apply cuff to delicate or damaged skin. Check cuff site frequently for irritation.

• Allow space between patient and cuff. Two fingers should fit in this space if the cuff is correctly positioned.

• Do not apply to limbs used for IV infusion.

• Patient should remain still during measurement to avoid erroneous readings.
