Water: Boil the cleaned instruments for 20 minutes in water which includes no additives (distilled water is preferable)
Autoclave: Only distilled water should be used without any kind of additives
Dry Heat: The over temperature should not exceed 120°C for one hour otherwise the temper of the steel may get affected
Note: After sterilization dry the instruments with a clean towel
Oiling: Whenever the instruments are likely to be stored / unused for any length of time, they should first undergo sterilization. A few drops of high-grade oil/liquid paraffin should then be applied to the joints and stored in a closed atmosphere. Ensure that the instrument are sterilized again before reuse.
