How Spasmogip Products work

Dicyclomine + Paracetamol is a combination of two medicines: dicyclomine and paracetamol, which relieves abdominal pain and cramps. Dicyclomine + Paracetamol1 is an anti-cholinergic which relaxes the muscles in the stomach and gut (intestine). It stops sudden muscle contractions (spasms), thereby relieving cramps, pain, bloating, and discomfort. Dicyclomine + Paracetamol2 is an analgesic (pain reliever) which works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain.

Patient Concerns about Spasmogip Products

Frequently asked questions about Spasmogip Products

Q. What is Spasmogip Tablet used for and how does it work?

Spasmogip Tablet is used to relieve abdominal pain and stomach cramps, especially when the pain is caused by intestinal spasms. It contains dicyclomine and paracetamol. Dicyclomine helps relax the muscles of the stomach and intestines, while paracetamol reduces pain signals. Together, they help relieve cramping and improve comfort.

Q. What are the common side effects of Spasmogip Tablet?

Spasmogip Tablet may cause side effects in some people, although many tolerate it well. Common effects include nausea, dry mouth, dizziness, sleepiness, weakness, blurred vision, or diarrhea. Stop the medicine and contact your doctor immediately if you develop severe rash, breathing difficulty, facial swelling, fainting, or persistent vomiting.

Q. Can I stop taking Spasmogip Tablet when my pain is relieved?

Spasmogip Tablet is usually used for short-term relief of abdominal cramps and may be stopped once the pain improves. However, if your doctor has advised you to continue it for a specific duration, follow their instructions.

Q. Can I take a higher dose of Spasmogip Tablet than recommended?

No, taking more than the recommended dose of Spasmogip Tablet may increase the risk of side effects. If your pain is not relieved with the prescribed dose or becomes worse, consult your doctor instead of increasing the dose on your own.

Q. Is Spasmogip Tablet suitable for everyone? Who should avoid it?

Spasmogip Tablet is generally safe when taken in the prescribed dose and duration, but it may not be suitable for everyone. People with allergy to its ingredients, severe liver disease, kidney problems, or alcohol dependency should use it cautiously. It should also be used carefully during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Q. What should I do if I miss a dose of Spasmogip Tablet?

If you miss a dose of Spasmogip Tablet, take the next planned dose at the usual time unless your doctor advises otherwise. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

Q. Can Spasmogip Tablet be taken after food?

Spasmogip Tablet is often easier on the stomach when taken after food, especially if you experience acidity or stomach irritation. Follow your doctor’s advice regarding the timing of doses.

Q. Can Spasmogip Tablet be taken with other pain medicines?

Spasmogip Tablet should not be combined with other pain medicines without consulting your doctor because many products may contain similar ingredients. Taking multiple medicines with the same ingredients may increase the risk of side effects.

Q. Can I take two doses of Spasmogip Tablet in a day?

The number of doses of Spasmogip Tablet per day depends on your doctor’s prescription and the severity of your symptoms. Do not change the dose or frequency on your own without medical advice.

Q. How quickly does Spasmogip Tablet work?

Spasmogip Tablet may start relieving abdominal cramps within a short time after taking it, but the exact timing can vary depending on the severity of symptoms and individual response.
