Betamethasone + Chloramphenicol is a combination of two medicines: Betamethasone + Chloramphenicol1 and Betamethasone + Chloramphenicol2 which treat eye infections. Betamethasone + Chloramphenicol1 is a steroid medicine. It blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the eye red, swollen and itchy after an allergy or infection. Betamethasone + Chloramphenicol2 is an antibiotic which stops bacterial growth by inhibiting synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions.
