Piokind-M 15 Tablet is used to help control blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes. It works best when combined with a proper diet and regular exercise, especially in people who have not responded well to a single diabetes medication, such as metformin or pioglitazone alone.

While Piokind-M 15 Tablet rarely causes low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) on its own, the risk increases if it is taken with insulin or other diabetes medicines. Symptoms of low blood sugar may include dizziness, sweating, or shakiness. Always carry a quick sugar source like glucose tablets or candy.

Individuals should not take Piokind-M 15 Tablet if they have heart failure, liver or kidney disease, bladder cancer, or a history of alcohol abuse. It is also not safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Serious side effects of Piokind-M 15 Tablet may include lactic acidosis (a rare but life-threatening buildup of acid in the blood), fluid retention or swelling, fractures, or vision problems. Seek medical help immediately if you feel very weak, have muscle pain, trouble breathing, or an irregular heartbeat.

Older adults should use Piokind-M 15 Tablet with caution, as they may be more sensitive to side effects like lactic acidosis, bone fractures, and fluid retention. Your doctor may adjust the dose carefully.

Your doctor may advise you to stop taking Piokind-M 15 Tablet before surgery or any test using contrast dye (like CT scans), as it can temporarily affect kidney function and increase the risk of lactic acidosis. Your doctor will tell you when it is safe to restart this medicine.
