How Otinex Products work
Chloramphenicol + Prednisolone + Acetic acid + Benzocaine is a combination of four medicines. Chloramphenicol + Prednisolone + Acetic acid + Benzocaine1 is an antibiotic which stops the growth of bacteria. It does so by preventing synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. This does not directly kill the bacteria, but prevents them from increasing in numbers, and eventually clears up the infection. Chloramphenicol + Prednisolone + Acetic acid + Benzocaine2 is a steroid which works by blocking the production of certain chemical messengers in the body that cause inflammation (redness and swelling) and allergies. Chloramphenicol + Prednisolone + Acetic acid + Benzocaine3 belongs to the class of medications called antibacterial and antifungal agents. It works by maintaining the pH thereby preventing the growth of bacteria and fungi. Chloramphenicol + Prednisolone + Acetic acid + Benzocaine4 works by blocking pain signals from the peripheral nerves to brain which decreases the sensation of pain. Thus, Chloramphenicol + Prednisolone + Acetic acid + Benzocaine treats ear infections.
