How Micogent Products work
Gentamicin + Miconazole is a combination of two medicines: Gentamicin + Miconazole1 and Gentamicin + Miconazole2. Gentamicin + Miconazole1 is an antibiotic which kills bacteria by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Gentamicin + Miconazole2 is an antifungal which stops the growth of fungi by preventing them from forming their own protective covering. Together, they treat your skin infection effectively.

Frequently asked questions about Micogent Products
Frequently asked questions about Micogent Products
Q. What skin problems is Micogent Cream usually prescribed for?
Micogent Cream is used on the skin for mixed infections where both bacteria and fungi may be involved, such as infected eczema, athlete’s foot with bacterial superinfection, impetigo-like patches, and inflamed ringworm areas.
Q. How soon should I expect my skin to start looking better after using Micogent Cream?
Many people notice a reduction in redness and discomfort within a few days of Micogent Cream use, while clearer skin can take 1 to 2 weeks. Your doctor may review progress at 2 to 4 weeks if needed.
Q. Can I use Micogent Cream on broken or oozing skin?
Micogent Cream is intended for external skin use on affected areas. Your doctor may allow use on superficial, weeping patches, but avoid deep wounds, punctures, or large open areas unless specifically advised.
Q. Is it okay to use Micogent Cream on the face, groin, or underarms where skin is thin?
Delicate areas can be more sensitive. Use Micogent Cream only if your doctor directs you, apply a very thin layer, and stop if irritation worsens.
Q. Will Micogent Cream help with itching and burning that come with rashes?
As the infection settles, the itch and burn typically ease. Cool compresses and emollients can be used alongside Micogent Cream, as advised by your doctor.
Q. What if I don’t see any improvement after a week of proper Micogent Cream use?
If you do not notice any signs of improvement after a week of using Micogent Cream, check back with your doctor. You may need a different treatment or an evaluation for conditions that mimic infection (like contact dermatitis or psoriasis).
Q. After the rash clears, should I stop Micogent Cream right away or stop gradually?
Follow your doctor's advised duration. Stopping Micogent Cream too soon may allow the infection to return. Continuing longer than advised may irritate the skin.
