Furazolidone + Metronidazole is a combination of two antibiotics: Furazolidone + Metronidazole1 and Furazolidone + Metronidazole2, which treats stomach and intestine infections. Furazolidone + Metronidazole1 works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria in the human body. Furazolidone + Metronidazole2 kills bacteria and other infectious microorganisms by damaging the DNA. Together, they treat your infection effectively.

Yes, Metromed Suspension can cause a temporary metallic taste. This metallic taste can be lowered by chewing sugar-free gum, mints and by brushing teeth after the meals.
Q. Can I drink alcohol while taking Metromed Suspension?
Avoid drinking alcohol while taking Metromed Suspension and for at least 3 days after stopping the medicine. Drinking alcohol while taking this medicine may cause an unpleasant reaction (Disulfiram-like reaction) with symptoms like stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, headache, flushing or redness of the face.
