Q. Is Eptil a narcotic?
Eptil is not a narcotic. Eptil belongs to a group of medicines called muscle relaxants. These medicines work by acting on the central nervous system and may be used for the relief of muscle spasms, cramping or tightness caused by diseases such as cerebral palsy, diseases of the spinal cord, meningitis, motor neurone disease, multiple sclerosis, cerebrovascular accidents and other injuries or diseases which affect the brain and nervous system
Q. Does Eptil help anxiety?
Though Eptil is not approved to treat anxiety disorders, it has been observed in some studies that it is effective in treating stress which occurs after a trauma.
Q. Can I take Eptil if I have a liver problem?
If you have a liver problem then you need to be cautious while taking Eptil. This is because the medicine may increase the production of liver enzymes. Hence, regular laboratory examination of liver enzymes is required while taking this medicine as advised by your doctor.
Q. Does Eptil have any effect on kidneys?
Eptil may cause side effects in patients with normal kidney function which include excessive day time urination (pollakiuria), burning sensation while urinating (dysuria), and loss of bladder control (urinary incontinence). Generally, a low dose of Eptil is prescribed if a person has abnormally functioning kidneys or if a person is on dialysis.
Q. How should Eptil be taken?
Take Eptil exactly as directed by your doctor. If a person experiences nausea while taking Eptil then it should be consumed with food or milk. However, for night cramps, it would be best to use the medicine at night time or 1 hour before doing specific tasks like physiotherapy or washing.
