Cyramza

Cyramza 500mg Injection is a targeted cancer medicine used to treat several advanced cancers, such as stomach cancer (gastric or gastroesophageal junction), non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), colorectal cancer, and liver cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma). It works by blocking the formation of new blood vessels that feed blood to the cancer cells and is often used with chemotherapy.

Cyramza 500mg Injection is given through an IV (intravenous) line in your arm. Each treatment usually takes about 60 minutes. You will receive it at a hospital or cancer treatment center. Your doctor will decide how often you need treatment, typically every 2-3 weeks, based on your specific condition.

The serious side effects of Cyramza 500mg Injection include severe bleeding, gastrointestinal perforation, arterial blood clots or stroke, high blood pressure, kidney problems (protein in urine), liver problems in liver cancer patients, etc. Your doctor will monitor you closely for these complications.

Individuals should not take Cyramza 500mg Injection if they are allergic to ramucirumab, have tumor involvement in major blood vessels, are actively bleeding, or have uncontrolled high blood pressure. It should be used with caution in people with liver cirrhosis or severe wound healing issues.

In rare cases, Cyramza 500mg Injection can cause a condition called posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES). Symptoms may include headache, seizures, vision problems, or confusion. If this happens, treatment should be stopped immediately.

Cyramza 500mg Injection may raise the risk of heart failure or arterial blood clots, especially when used with other chemotherapy drugs. Tell your doctor if you have chest pain, shortness of breath, or swelling.

You should watch for signs of allergic reactions during or after Cyramza 500mg Injection treatment that include chills or shaking, fever, rash or hives, difficulty breathing, chest tightness, etc. Tell your healthcare team immediately if you experience any of these symptoms.

Most people can continue with their regular activities, but they should get plenty of rest, avoid crowds and sick people due to infection risk, and take special care to prevent cuts and injuries. If you are not sure of resuming your daily activities, check with your doctor about exercise and other activities.

Your doctor will order regular scans to check tumor size, monitor your symptoms, perform physical exams, and track any improvement in your condition. It may take several weeks before changes can be seen.

The Cyramza 500mg Injection treatment continues until your cancer worsens or you develop unacceptable side effects. Your doctor will assess your response regularly.
