Test Preparation

Depending on the area to be imaged, you may be asked to wear a hospital gown at the time of the scan.
Inform your doctor and technician if you are pregnant or may be pregnant before the test.
You will have to remove your jewellery and avoid wearing clothes with metal objects like metal zips, studs etc. which might interfere with the image
Inform your doctor and technician if you have any stents, implants or pacemakers in your body.

What is MRI Brain with MR Venography?

MRI with MRV Brain is and imaging procedure used to visualize the structures of brain. It creates images of bones of the brain (cranium), veins/arteries (grey/white matter), cranial nerves and surrounding soft tissues. Magnetic resonance venography (MRV) examination focus only on the venous blood vessels of head and neck area. An electronic device captures and stores the clear 3D images during the scan. Doctor then uses these images for interpretation and diagnosis.
