Insulin Antibody Type I & II Diabetes, Serum

The Insulin Antibody Type I & II Diabetes Serum test measures the presence and level of insulin antibodies in the blood. Specifically, it detects and measures the presence of antibodies that are directed against insulin or insulin receptor. Insulin Antibody Type I & II Diabetes, Serum test is done to diagnose Type 1 diabetes; to differentiate Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, since the presence of insulin antibodies is more commonly associated with Type 1 diabetes, as compared to people with Type 2 diabetes; to monitor insulin therapy, and to assess risk of developing diabetes particularly in individuals who are at higher risk of developing the condition and guide preventative measures. This test may be advised to people who exhibit symptoms like frequent urination, excessive thirst, hunger, even after eating; fatigue, blurred vision, slow-healing wounds, and tingling or numbness in the hands or feet.
