The CT Additonal Sinogram is an imaging technique used to examine abnormal openings or sinuses in the body. It uses a combination of X-rays and the administration of contrast material to assess a sinus. Doctors recommend this scan if you have fluid discharge from your skin or accumulation of pus (abscess). The entire procedure takes around 45-60 minutes. Doctors can prepare an effective treatment plan using the results.

Pregnant women and people who have had certain recent illnesses or allergies to the contrast material cannot undergo this procedure. The contrast can cause minor side-effects, like itching, nausea, a rash, or shortness of breath. You may also notice minor bleeding from the sinus. Consult a doctor if you experience any discomfort.
