Color Doppler Pelvis

A Color Doppler - Pelvis is an imaging technique that gives detailed images of the lower abdomen and the pelvis. There are three types of pelvic ultrasound: Transabdominal, Transvaginal, and Transrectal. In women, a pelvic ultrasound gives images of the uterus, cervix, vagina, fallopian tubes, and ovaries. In men, it gives images of the bladder, prostate, and seminal vesicles.

A Transabdominal ultrasound helps measure and examine the pelvis, blood flow to the pelvic region, and bladder growth. It helps detect kidney stones and determine the reason behind any pelvic and abdominal pain.

Drink 4 glasses of water before a transabdominal probe and empty the bladder after the procedure. A positive result could mean cancer of the bladder, or other pelvic organs, or enlarged lymph nodes.
