Carriergen test is a genetic test that helps screen if you are the carrier of any genetic disease that could affect the health of your child. This test is useful for identifying recessive diseases only. You may take this test if you are planning for a baby or during pregnancy to know your genetic risk of having a child with a genetic disease.  Also, you may take this test if you or your partner is affected by a hereditary disease, you have a family history of genetic disease, or if your previous child is detected with congenital abnormalities. This test is also meant for couples going through various procedures such as in vitro fertilization (IVF).
