What is Arsenic, Urine?
An arsenic urine test is suggested in case of acute or chronic exposure to arsenic, but exposure is unknown. This test helps in diagnosis of Arsenic Intoxication.
Arsenic is present in a number of different forms; organic forms are nontoxic in nature while inorganic forms are toxic in nature. As arsenic is excreted mainly by glomerular filtration, test for arsenic in urine is the most effective screening test to measure arsenic exposure.
For this test, a random urine sample or 24-hour urine collection is needed.
