  1. Pregnant women should inform their doctor (and x-ray technician) as the radiations may affect the fetus. If needed, precautions can be taken to lower the radiation exposure to the fetus.
  2. Depending on the area to be imaged, you may be asked to wear a hospital gown at the time of the scan.


What is CT Guided Interv. Procedure?

The Computed Tomography (CT) Guided Intervention Procedure is done to reach the deep seated or hard to reach locations in the body. The CT scan is used to create real time image of the organ or location of the body where the intervention procedure is to be performed and then used to guide the procedure.

Why is CT Guided Interv. Procedure done?

  1. To withdraw a tissue sample for biopsy
  2. To withdraw body fluids by fine needle aspiration
  3. To place catheters for drainage of abnormally collected fluid
  4. To place guiding structures for assisting further surgical procedures
