What is CECT Scan Brain & Orbit?
A CECT Head And Orbit Axial scan is a medical imaging procedure that uses a series of X-ray beams and contrast material to create 3-dimensional images of the head and eye sockets (orbits). Unusual symptoms like severe headaches, fainting episodes, seizures, or sudden loss of vision may require a head scan to diagnose the illness. The images can help examine the underlying issues of the head and orbit axial regions like congenital birth defects, optical nerve damage, and optical bone fractures.
CECT Head and Orbital Axial scan is a low-risk procedure, causing temporary, minor side effects. An abnormal result can indicate aneurysms, internal bleeding, stroke, skull fractures, and possibly foreign objects lodged in the eye sockets. Women must inform the doctor about their possible pregnancy before the scan.
