What is CECT Orbit Coronal?
A CECT Orbit Coronal or Contrast-Enhanced Computed Tomography of the orbital coronal is a diagnostic imaging procedure that uses x-rays combined with contrast material to access and evaluate the regions of eye sockets (orbits), eyes, and surrounding bones. The three-dimensional images created by the CECT orbit coronal scan also assist physicians in surgery, biopsy, and radiation therapy.
The doctor may prescribe a CECT Orbit Coronal for patients with symptoms like abrupt vision loss, double loss, swelling, and pain. The contrast material used during this scan may sometimes cause unpleasant side effects such as dry, soreness, redness, or itchy skin. Many of these side effects can be treated immediately. An abnormal scan result may indicate the presence of bleeding, broken eye socket bones, fractures, infection, or tumor (abnormal growths).
Why is CECT Orbit Coronal done?
