Terlipressin is used in the treatment of bleeding esophageal varices (dilated blood vessels in food pipe)

How it works

Terlipressin has the same structure as natural hormone vasopressin. Vasopressin prevent the loss of water from the body by reducing the amount of urine and also decreases bleeding by constricting (narrowing) the blood vessels.
