How Sucralfate (topical) + Povidone Iodine works

Sucralfate (topical) + Povidone Iodine is a combination of two medicines: Sucralfate (topical) and Povidone Iodine. Sucralfate (topical) is an anti-ulcerant which forms a coating over the affected skin surface. This creates a physical barrier that protects the skin from further injury, allowing it to heal. Povidone Iodine is an antiseptic applied on skin which is infected or is likely to get infected. It slowly releases iodine which kills or prevents the growth of infectious microorganisms.
