Cervical cancer (cancer of cervix), caused by persistent Human Papillomavirus (HPV) infections, is the 2nd most common cancer in women in India. The HPV vaccine protects against cervical cancer, genital warts, and cancers of the vagina, vulva, anus, penis, mouth, and throat.
Recommended for adolescents aged 9-14 years, the vaccine is also available for individuals aged 15-45 years.
