Product Description
Livogen-Z Captab is an OTC (over-the-counter) nutritional supplement. It includes iron, folic acid, and zinc. Together, they help maintain hemoglobin levels; support red blood cell formation and immunity; and promote overall health.
It is often used to treat iron-deficiency anemia and other nutritional anemias. This is especially useful during adolescence, pregnancy, and breastfeeding, when the need for iron and folic acid by the body is significantly increased. It can help relieve symptoms such as fatigue, weakness, pale skin, and brittle nails.
The usual dose is one tablet twice daily or as advised by a doctor. For maximum absorption, it should ideally be taken on an empty stomach (1 hour before or 2 hours after meals). If stomach upset occurs, it can then be taken with or after food. Swallow it whole with water and do not chew, crush, or break it.
Do not take it with milk, tea, coffee, or calcium-rich food and supplements within 2 hours of taking this supplement. These can impair the absorption of iron. Iron can also decrease the absorption of other medications, such as levothyroxine (for thyroid) and quinolone or tetracycline antibiotics. These should usually be taken at least 2 hours before or after Livogen-Z.
This tablet is usually safe for most people. However, there may be cases when some people may experience mild stomach discomfort and dark stools. These effects generally do not harm you. If you have an allergy to any of its ingredients, avoid using it. Also, do not use it if you have high iron levels or conditions such as ulcers, intestinal blockage, or inflammatory bowel disease.
Livogen-Z is used for your nutritional needs and general health. However, you must not replace it with a healthy diet. If you have any medical issues or are on any medications, consult your doctor before using this supplement.
