Calorder + Tablet is the citrate salt of calcium, an element necessary for normal nerve, muscle, and cardiac function, calcium as the citrate salt can help to maintain calcium balance and prevent bone loss when taken orally. This agent may also be chemopreventive for colon and other cancers. Alfacalcidol, or 1-alpha-hydroxycholecalciferol or 1-alpha-hydroxyvitamin D3, is a non-endogenous analog of vitamin D.4 It can play an essential function in calcium homeostasis and bone metabolism. Alfacalcidol is activated by the enzyme 25-hydroxylase in the liver to mediate its effects on the body, kidneys, and bones. The pharmacological actions of alfacalcidol are more prolonged than vitamin D because a negative feedback mechanism can regulate the final activation step of vitamin D in the kidneys.
